Reaction Roles

Off by default

Let members pick roles with reactions, buttons or dropdowns. Menus can add only, remove only, or allow one role from a set.

Set it up

Open the dashboard and pick your server. Sign in with Discord if you haven’t.
Find Reaction Roles in the sidebar (or press ⌘K and type its name) and turn it on.
Go through the settings below. Simple mode shows the essentials; switch to Advanced for the rest.
Try it in Discord: /reactionroles. Staff can restrict or turn off each command in Commands.

Tips

Buttons and dropdowns work on mobile better than reactions, and need no extra permissions.

Settings

What you’ll find on the Reaction Roles page of the dashboard. Settings marked Advanced only show in Advanced mode.

Behaviour

DM members about reactions: On/offReactions have no reply, so Kovu can DM members when a reaction gives or takes a role, or when they can’t use a menu. Buttons and dropdowns always answer privately.
