Automod
Off by default
Automod rules watch every message for spam, bad words, invites, phishing links, mass mentions and more. Each rule has its own action, from deleting the message to banning after repeated violations.
Set it up
Open the dashboard and pick your server. Sign in with Discord if you haven’t.
Find Automod in the sidebar (or press ⌘K and type its name) and turn it on.
Go through the settings below. Simple mode shows the essentials; switch to Advanced for the rest.
Changes apply in your server within a few seconds of saving.
Tips
- Start with the phishing and invite filters; they catch most raids.
- Use the tester on the dashboard to check a rule before turning it on.
- Exempt your staff roles per rule, or globally.

- ChannelEvery violation is posted here. Rules can use their own channel instead.
Ignored everywhere
Applies to every rule.
- Ignored channels
- ChannelsAutomod never checks messages in these channels or categories.
- Ignored roles
- RolesMembers with these roles are never checked. Owners, admins, managers and mods always are exempt.

- On/offKovu copies up to 6 bad-word rules into Discord’s built-in AutoMod, which blocks the message before anyone sees it. Needs Manage Server.
